In
2007, Idaho fourth graders had a mathematics average scale
score (241) that was higher than the nation (239).

In
2007, Idaho fourth graders scored higher than the national
average in two mathematics strands (numbers, and
measurement), but was not different from the nation in three
strands (geometry, algebra, and data analysis & statistics.

In
2007, Idaho eighth graders had a mathematics average scale
score (284) that was higher than the nation (280).

In
2005, Idaho eighth graders scored higher than the nation in
four mathematics strands (numbers, measurement,
geometri, and data analysis & statistics), but was not different from the nation in
one
strand (algebra & functions).

In 2007, Idaho
fourth graders retreated a little from their outstanding
performance on the 2005 mathematics test. Even so, their
2007 mathematics performance was an improvement over
that of
2003. In 2007, 85% of Idaho's fourth graders
either met or exceeded grade-level expectations.
In 2007, Idaho
eighth graders continued the state trend of increasing
the percentage of students meeting or exceeding
grade-level expectations (i.e., increasing the
percentage of students scoring at or above Basic
on NAEP). In 2007, 75% of Idaho's eighth graders either
met or exceeded grade-level expectations. |
