that was higher than the nation (217).

than the nation on the reading subscales.

percent of Idaho fourth graders scored at or above Basic
in reading, which was higher than their national peers (62 percent).

Idaho was one of three states where the percentage of
students "At or Above Basic" on the Grade 4
reading assessment was significantly higher in 2005 than in
2003. No state enjoyed a significant increase in the
percentage of students "At or Above Basic" on
the Grade 8 reading assessment from 2003 to 2005. NAEP's Basic is
comparable to ISAT's proficient that is used to report AYP. |
