Information common to all NAEP 2008 Assessments

(1) The Idaho Sample for NAEP 2008

The sampling process for NAEP 2008 began with the selection of primary sampling units across the nation.  Then schools are selected from the sampling units to represent a national sample.

In Idaho, twelve (12) schools were selected from the "blue area" on the map to the right to take part in the NAEP National Arts Test or in NAEP Items Field Testing for 2009.

Sixteen (16) Idaho schools were selected from the "yellow area" on the map to take part in the NAEP Long Term Trend Assessment.

In the final stage of sampling, individual students are selected on a random basis to take part in the assessment.  The number of  students selected in a school depends of (1) the size of the school, (2) the grade level or age of the students to be assessed, and (3) the NAEP assessment for which the school was sampled.
