Most Idaho schools in the NAEP 2009 sample will be notified about their selection sometime in May 2008.

Principals of selected NAEP 2009 schools will be notified sometime in June 2008 about their scheduled assessment day so they can "save the date" on their school calendars. 

NAEP 2009 testing will take place from January 26 through March 6, 2009.

In the fall, students in NAEP 2009 schools as 4th, 8th and 12th graders will be sampled on a random basis to take part in the assessment. The number of students selected in a school depends on the size of the school and the grade level of the students to be assessed. For NAEP 2009, the number of students to be selected in an Idaho school may be as many as 120 for grade 4, 270 for grade 8, and 320 for grade 12.
