IDAHO STUDENTS BENEFIT AS BOARD KEEPS SCHOLARSHIPS WHOLE

(Moscow). Voting unanimously to hold the amount of scholarship monies the same despite dwindling resources, the Idaho State Board of Education today continued in its long-standing efforts to ensure as many Idahoans as possible have access to higher education.

"Education changes lives," said State Board Vice-President Ken Edmunds of Twin Falls. "If we want to meet our goal of 60% degree/certificate attainment by the year 2020, we must do all we can to help students financially."

The Board approved the following amounts for scholarship awards in the coming fiscal year (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012)

Robert R. Lee Promise Category "A" Academic: $3,000 annual, renewable for up to 4 years.

Robert R Lee Promise Category "B" Academic: $400 annual renewable for up to 2 years.

Opportunity Scholarship: $3,000 annual renewable for up to 4 years.
