EITC PRESIDENT TO RETIRE; NATIONAL SEARCH TO BEGIN IMMEDIATELY

(Twin Falls). Calling him a president who has served honorably and effectively, Idaho State Board of Education President Richard Westerberg announced today that Eastern Idaho Technical College President Burton Waite intends to retire and vacate the position.

Waite, who will retire December 31, 2011, served as in interim president at EITC starting July 1, 2008. He was named president in January of 2009. Prior to EITC, Waite was a program manager at the Division of Professional-Technical Education, the Director for Workforce Training at Boise State University and campus director for ITT Technical College in Boise.

"I have absolutely enjoyed every minute of it," said Waite. "It's been a tremendous honor to work side by side with these fine people. EITC is a special place."

A national search for Waite's replacement will begin immediately. Emma Atchley, State Board of Education from Ashton will chair the committee.
