BOARD RELEASES STATEMENT REGARDING FORMER BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC DIRECTOR GENE BLEYMAIER

(Boise). The Idaho State Board of Education President, Richard Westerberg released the following statement regarding the termination of former Boise State University Athletic Director Dr. Gene Bleymaier:

“We are in full support of Dr. Kustra and his decision. We appreciate the support that has been expressed for Dr. Bleymaier. We fully support however, Dr. Kustra and believe there is continued optimism for Boise State in all areas; academics, student life and athletics. It is a personnel matter and as such we’ll have no further comment. We need to remain focused on what is really paramount in Idaho; increasing educational opportunities and attainment for all Idahoans to secure a viable future.”

The State Board of Education will next meet, October 19-20, 2011 in Lewiston on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College.
