SCHOOLS TO BE HONORED IN EASTERN/SOUTHERN IDAHO

(Boise). Representatives from the Idaho State Board of Education will be in eastern Idaho on Tuesday October 11, 2001 presenting academic achievement awards to several schools.

The Distinguished Schools Award is given to the top five percent of schools who achieve Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) two (2) consecutive years and show a reduction in subgroups. The Additional Yearly Growth Award is given to schools which achieve AYP two (2) consecutive years and show a reduction in subgroups. In 2011, some twelve (12) schools earned twenty (20) Distinguished School Awards. Eight schools state-wide earned some 10 Additional Yearly Growth Awards. Awards will be presented to schools in Blackfoot, Ft. Hall, Pocatello, Burley and Caldwell on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 on the following schedule:

  • Tyhee Elementary, 9:00am
  • Blackfoot High School, 11:25am
  • Ft. Hall Elementary, 1:00pm
  • Mountain View Elementary, 3:15pm
  • Vallivue School Board meeting, 7:30pm
