The 20 recommendations of the Governor’s Task Force for Improving Education received broad support from stakeholder groups across the state. The 2014 Legislature addressed some of the specific recommendations. However, many of the recommendations require further study and development of plans for implementation. The State Board is leading special committees to do this work.
What is the State Board of Education?
The Idaho State Board of Education (SBOE) is a policy-making body for all public education in Idaho and provides general oversight and governance for public K-20 education. SBOE serves as the Board of Trustees for state-sponsored public four year colleges and universities and the Board of Regents for the University of Idaho.
