The State Board of Education is responsible for the general supervision of the State Department of Education, the Idaho Educational Public Broadcasting System, the School for the Deaf and the Blind, the Division of Professional Technical Education, and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, all of which operate in accordance with the Governing Policies and Procedures established by the Board.
The State Historical Society and the Commission for Libraries operate in accordance with the policies established by the respective boards of trustees, except for state appropriation requests and related matters governed by the State Board of Education. For purposes of this section, the State Historical Society and the Idaho Commission for Libraries are excluded from coverage unless included by specific reference.
