STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS ON OCTOBER 16, 2003

The Idaho State Board of Education is holding a Public Hearing via videoconference regarding the proposed rules for accountability and teacher certification on October 16, 2003, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm MDT. Proposed rules and rule changes being considered are:

Adding the Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) as a graduation requirement

Incorporating "No Child Left Behind" requirements into a state school accountability plan

Teacher certification

Revisions to the code of ethics

Requirements for testing for new teachers, and

Changes to the alternative certification process.
