Report may be made public next week
BOISE -- The State Board of Education anticipates a presentation of the University Place report during an executive session at the regularly scheduled board meeting in Pocatello on Friday, December 5, 2003. Representatives from Holland & Hart and KPMG will make presentations and answer questions.
The State Board of Education commissioned the University Place Report in April. Larry Prince, an attorney at Holland & Hart, was selected to lead the a management review of personnel issues related to the University of Idaho's involvement in the $136 million University Place-Boise project. More than 40 individuals were interviewed and hundreds of thousands of pages were reviewed for the final report.
Following the executive session during an open session, it is anticipated that a motion will be made that will release the report to the public once information restricted from release by the public records law has been redacted by the Idaho Attorney General's office. Further, it is anticipated that a subcommittee will be appointed to review the report in detail and bring back a recommended corrective action plan to the full Board at a future meeting. The redacted final report may be ready for release to the public as early as next week.
In an open session, Holland & Hart, and KPMG will make a presentation outlining the scope, process and complexity of the review.
The regularly schedule Board meeting will be held on Thursday and Friday in Pocatello at the Idaho State University from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
