BOISE - The Idaho State Board of Education will hold a conference call meeting on June 24, at 11:30 a.m. The Board will discuss bids for Idaho State University’s Rendezvous Center.

The Board approved the construction of the 245,000 square foot Rendezvous Center in June 2003 with a budget of $38 million. In March, ISU opened bids for 27 subcontractors to construct phase III of the building. The total bids exceeded the budget by $8.7 million. The project was recently re-bid on June 17. While lower bids for phase III were submitted, the entire project is still over budget by $4.7 million. The low bids received in March are set to expire on June 26. Without Board approval to increase the cost of the building, ISU could lose access to several of the lower bids for the project.
