The State Board of Education will hold a public hearing to take testimony on the proposed split of the Lake Pend Oreille School District on August 5, at 1 p.m. at the Couer d’Alene Room in the Student Union Building on the North Idaho College campus.
A hearing officer appointed by the State Board will conduct the hearing. In April, the State Board of Education denied the Lake Pend Oreille School District’s request to split the school district. The Hope-Clark Fork Coalition for Quality Education has asked the Board to reconsider its decision. The hearing will gather testimony and evidence from the Coalition and the Lake Pend Oreille School District. Members of the public may also testify.
