BOISE - The State Board of Education approved the University of Idaho’s new proposal to purchase the former Tau Kappa lota Fraternity home on Nez Pearce Drive in Moscow.
The purchase of the building is required by a 1962 agreement that stated the university would buy the home if the fraternity dissolved. The Board agreed on a purchase price of $400,102. The funds will be used to pay the remaining debt on the home and the remaining funds will be put in an account to be used if the fraternity should recommence. If the fraternity does not reincorporate, the funds will be used towards scholarships for UI students.
