BOISE – The State Board of Education has named Karen Echeverria as deputy director.
Echeverria has served as the office’s Chief Administration and Policy and Governmental Relations Officer since 2003. As deputy director, Echeverria will continue to be the Board’s contact for policy and rules, but will also oversee internal functions at the Board office.
“Karen’s outstanding management skills and extensive knowledge on legislative rules makes her well suited for this position,” said Executive Director Dwight Johnson. “This promotion will allow for greater outreach and partnership building by the executive director while Karen manages the office.”
Echeverria has worked in state government for more than 15 years including experience in the Health and Welfare Department, State Controller’s office, and the Department of Administration. Echeverria is a native of Mountain Home.
