BOISE — Margo Healy has been hired as the ISAT Program Manager in the Office of the State Board of Education. The announcement was made to staff by Director Dwight Johnson. She will assume her new position March 5, 2007.
Healy who brings an impressive resume to the position said, "I understand the purpose of the ISAT. I understand what those in government need to know from the ISAT and I know about achievement, but I really understand how achievement helps instruction in the classroom and that’s what really matters."
The ISAT (Idaho Standards Achievement Test) is part of the State’s on-going effort to comply with No Child Left Behind, as mandated by the Federal Government in 2001 and signed in to law by President George W. Bush in January of 2002.
Healy was most recently the Title 1 Director in charge of Student Achievement/School Accountability at the State Department of Education under Superintendent Tom Luna. Healy earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon, her Master’s degree at the University of Idaho and is currently working on her Doctorate in School Improvement at Boise State University.
