BOISE— Dwight Johnson has accepted a senior management position with the Idaho Department of Labor and will be leaving his position as the Executive Director of the State Board of Education. He will start his new position with Labor on May 21, 2007.
“I am excited about accepting this opportunity with the Department of Labor where I worked for over10 years before coming to the State Board of Education. I will miss my association and work with the Board, but believe this change will be best for me and my family. The last year and a half I served with the Board has been a wonderful experience that I truly enjoyed and learned a great deal,” said Johnson
Milford Terrell, President of the State Board said, “Dwight has provided outstanding leadership for the State Board. He will be greatly missed, but we understand his decision and wish him well in his future.”
The Director of the Idaho Department of Labor, Roger Madsen said, “We are thrilled that Dwight has accepted our offer. He is a tremendous state employee and we look forward to having his skills and experience to move our agency’s agenda forward.”
Terrell indicated that the Board would be working quickly to put a selection process together to hire a replacement for Johnson. Karen Echeverria, Deputy Director of the State Board Office, will assume the Director’s responsibilities while the search is conducted.
