BOISE— Members of the Idaho State Board of Education postponed a special meeting this morning to give the Board more time to review the list of applicants for potential trustees for the College of Western Idaho (CWI).
Board President Milford Terrell said, "The Board members want to make sure we choose five highly qualified candidates who can work well together in the best interest of all Treasure Valley residents. We are continuing the process of reviewing qualified applicants before making a final decision."
Upon completion of the review process by the State Board’s subcommittee, the Board will set a new date and time for a meeting to approve the trustees for CWI.
Persons appointed by the Idaho State Board of Education to serve as trustees of the College of Western Idaho will do so until the "first general election," according to Idaho Code. The first general election is November 2008. Trustees at that point will have the option of running for election for their seat. The length of term of each trustee up for election will be staggered at that point.
