BOISE— College of Western Idaho Board of Trustee Chairman Jerry Hess announced today that he intends to reschedule their Tuesday August 7th meeting. Hess cited a need for more time for vital materials to be gathered and prepared for review. "We’re moving as quickly as we can and so are a lot of people who we’re asking to provide a tremendous amount of information" said Hess. "I just don’t see it all being ready for us by next Tuesday, so we’ll reschedule just as soon as it is."
Hess, along with four other Treasure Valley citizens, Mark Dunham, Hatch Barrett, Guy Hurlbutt and M.C.Niland were sworn in on Monday July 30, 2007 as Trustees of the College of Western Idaho.
The Board held their first meeting immediately following their swearing-in ceremony. They voted unanimously to hold a regular meeting on the third Tuesday of each month, starting in September, but noted that there was significant need to meet before September 18th.
Chairman Hess also appointed two subcommittees to work on Board matters during the July meeting: One- to evaluate and report on a possible arrangement with Boise State University to help provide some classes and services for CWI during the start up transition, and a second sub committee to move forward with the formation of a citizen’s community advisory board.
