BOISE— The College of Western Idaho has its first employee. Board of Trustees Chairman Jerry Hess announced today that Dennis Griffin has been hired as interim president. "Dennis is already on site at BSU West and ready to start putting the administrative infrastructure in place right now," said Hess.
Griffin, who most recently was the Executive Director of the Boise State University West Campus, will be responsible for hiring staff as he sees fit. "I’m honored and humbled," said Griffin. CWI maintains their goal to begin offering classes by January 2008. "BSU will have a significant role in what we do, but we are an independent educational entity," said Hess. "We look forward to working with anyone who can help us put this college together in the best way possible. That’s what the voters require of us and that’s what we will do."
