BOARD APPROVES NEXT STEP FOR CWI TRANSITION

(Boise) The Idaho State Board of Education has approved the process by which select properties will ultimately be transferred to the College of Western Idaho. The Board voted during its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday to sign a non-binding memorandum of understanding. The document states that the Board intends to transfer buildings and property located in Canyon County to the College of Western Idaho. The buildings include the Canyon County Center on Caldwell Boulevard and the BSU West Campus- located north of the Idaho Center, both in Nampa.

Also included is 100 acres of property on the BSU West Campus. The remaining approximately 50 acres of real property, including the TECenter Property, will be retained by the State Board of Education and BSU for the purpose of providing university functions and coursework at the CWI/University Place Campus.

Trustees from the College of Western Idaho voted Friday afternoon to ratify the same non-binding memorandum of understanding during their meeting held on the BSU West Campus.
