IDAHO SCHOOLS SHOW DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT ON ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS

(Boise). More than 362 Idaho schools achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) according to data released today by the Office of the Idaho State Board of Education.

The 362 schools represent a significant improvement over 2007 AYP numbers when only 168 schools made AYP.“Our schools, our districts, educators and parents, student- everyone should be very pleased with these results,” said Board President Milford Terrell.

Overall, school districts showed exemplary gains as well; 56 of Idaho’s 131 districts made AYP, or 43% overall- up from just 27% one year ago.
