BOARD PRESIDENT OFFERS STATEMENT ON BSU PROFESSOR’S DEATH

(Boise). The Idaho State Board of Education, the government body which oversees Boise State University (BSU), offered this statement today on the death of BSU Professor Mary Ellen Ryder. Local officials believe Ryder died in a wildfire that swept through a Boise neighborhood, Monday evening, August 25, 2008.

“Words seem immensely inadequate at a time like this,” said Board President Milford Terrell. “The Board extends our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to the Ryder family at this time. It is difficult to imagine what they must be going through, but our hearts and prayers are with them, as well as with Mary Ellen’s colleagues and friends at Boise State.”
