EAST IDAHO MEDIA ADVISORY
(Boise). A representative from the Idaho State Board of Education will be in eastern Idaho on Wednesday, October 15, and Thursday October 16, 2008 to present three (3) local schools with Additional Yearly Progress Awards. This award is given to schools who make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP under No Child Left Behind) for two consecutive years or more and achieve an increase of 10% or more proficiency in 2008. Only 15 schools (out of a possible 652) in the entire state of Idaho were able to satisfy these requirements. The award presentations will be made to the schools at the following times:
