BOARD SETS FEES & TUITION

(Boise). The Idaho State Board of Education has set and approved higher education tuition and fees for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Fees for the individual colleges and universities are as follows, with the amount of increase over fiscal year 2009 (which ends June 30, 2009):

2008/2009 Full Time- Idaho Resident- Undergraduate Fees/Tutition

  • University of Idaho: $4,934.00 for matriculation fees annually or a 6.5% increase.
  • Boise State University: $4,864.00 for tuition and fees annually or a 5.0% increase.
  • Idaho State University: $4,968.00 for tuition and fees annually or a 6.5% increase.
  • Lewis Clark State College: $4,596.00 for tuition and fees annually or a 7.0% increase.
  • Eastern Idaho Technical College: $1,750.00 for tuition and fees annually or a 5.0% increase.

Initially, the University of Idaho had asked for an 8.5% increase, Boise State University a 5.0% increase which they were granted. Idaho State University requested a 9.3% increase. Lewis Clark State College requested a 9.0% increase, and Eastern Idaho Technical College had requested a 5.0% increase, which they too were granted.

The Board also informed each of the institutions that should the Joint Finance Appropriations Committee (JFAC) change the amount of personnel costs currently appropriated in the college/universities budget for the 2010 fiscal year, those changes would automatically adjust accordingly in each of the institution’s budgets.

The Board’s next regularly scheduled meeting is April 16-17, 2009 in Moscow on the campus of the University of Idaho.
