8-Year Plan for Delivery of Academic Programs
Idaho Code §33-113 charges the Board to define the limits of all public instruction to assure that educational needs are met and in a manner that prevents duplication of services.
In response to these directives, the Board has adopted, through policy, a comprehensive planning process for the coordination and delivery of postsecondary education. The state plan consists of four regional plans: north, southwest, southeast, south–central, and a statewide section. These plans are structured to address an eight-year period of time with updates every two years. Academic programs identified in the plans are divided into two types: regional and statewide/unique. Definitions and examples of each type of program are outlined in subsequent sections of the plan.
